Summary/Abstract: One of the productive authors in modern Turkish literature is Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil (1865-1945) who has written in many different literary genres has especially provided to the development of novel. The novels written by Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil, who is one of the writers in Turkish literature who deals with the individual in the novel genre with a realistic understanding, during the Servet-i Fünûn period are considered as the works of the author's maturity period. The fact that Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil's novels are written with a realist approach has made the author's novels in a situation where René Girard's classification of "romantic" and "novelistic" can be easily distinguished. The novels written by the author during the Servet-i Fünûn period are close to the texts that Girard calls "novelistic truth" and that he finds more artistically valuable in terms of not ignoring the fact that the individual shapes his own desires according to someone else. In this study, Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil's novels of the Servet-i Fünûn period were choosen and examined according to René Girard's triangular desire model. The aim of this study is to reveal how triangular desire works in the author’s novels.
