Summary/Abstract: The concept of criticism involves the examination of works, forming an opinion about the work, and arriving at a judgment. Criticism, which means evaluating something, when understood in the context of literary works, encompasses a wide range of aspects such as the value of the literary work, its differences among similar works, and its relationship with the period and characteristics in which it was created. Alongside literary criticism, it is also necessary to consider the criticism of the literary work itself. Literary works, by reflecting the characteristics of the period in which they were created, convey information not only about the author but also about the environment in which the author lived. While reflecting the period and its characteristics in their work, the author employs various methods. An author of literary works who criticizes their era through satire, mockery, and ridicule may also prefer different modes of expression depending on their style. İhlasi with his identity as a folk poet, describes the society he lives in. He combines his observations with his knowledge and experiences and conveys them to the society through his poems. The poet examines the Turkey he lives in, the problems of the Turks, and the reasons for these problems. While conveying these, he acts quite ruthlessly and demonstrates his behavior through harsh expressions. Sometimes, as a member of the society, he blames himself and thus the society, sometimes he becomes introverted with pessimistic feelings, and sometimes he adopts an aggressive attitude.
