Summary/Abstract: In this article, we will explore the main phenomena associated with the expansion and growing awareness of a new sensibility characteristic of the fin de siècle, which prompts individuals to immerse themselves in frameworks and contexts that highlight the depths of the self. The act of letter writing, the establishment of an entire ritual to translate the intimate atmosphere of dialogue with the other into reality, the creation of a personal space for such moments, and the subjective connection to the domestic universe—all these manifestations with a directorial potential will be reflected both outside the confessional pages, through the mentioned actions, and within them, through the construction of various postures. Queen Elisabeth's nonconformism, otherwise bound by the duties of any crowned head, will clearly manifest in the intimacy of the letters exchanged with her husband, King Carol I.
