Summary/Abstract: The subject of research in this report is the assessment of the specificity and significance of the last update of 2023. of the Corporate Governance Principles of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on the governance of publicly traded companies and their stakeholders with the addition of a new Chapter VI. „Sustainability and Viability”. The purpose of the analysis is to highlight the new opportunities, but also the potential difficulties for the enterprises, related to the new sustainability requirements. The importance of the changes is assessed in the context of Bulgaria's preparation for membership in the OECD and given the progress of achieving legal and regulatory compliance in Bulgaria with the EU's requirements for sustainability of corporate governance.
