Summary/Abstract: Art songs are a style that arose in the Romantic period. They combine beautiful poetry, superb sheet music and are passed on by word of mouth among people around the world. In the present article, Schubert from the period of Western Romanticism and Huang Zi from the 1930s are chosen as the object of study. Based on the combination of music and literature, piano accompaniment, psychological depiction and expression of feelings, a comparative analysis is made of the characteristics of Schubert's and Huang Zi's art songs, and then the stylistic differences in art songs between China and other countries are explored.
