Summary/Abstract: Contemporary society is characterized by a fast pace and a chronic lack of time, imposing the need for adaptation through efficient resource management strategies. However, a frequently observed phenomenon is the tendency to postpone important tasks, known as procrastination. This article proposes an in-depth analysis of procrastination from a scientific perspective, exploring the history of this phenomenon's appearance, its characteristics, causes, types, consequences, associated theories, and the correlation of procrastination with other psychological phenomena.
