In the context of increasing the number of trafficked children in the total number of victims of human beings trafficking, it is absolutely necessary to strengthen the efforts of the competent authorities and direct the State’s attention to developing more effective policies and measures to prevent and combat child trafficking. Among the most important aspects to be assessed in order to identify potential victims of child trafficking and provide them with assistance are: the use of research results and paying more attention to the link between child trafficking and the use of information communication technologies; strengthening the capacities and resources of child protection professionals; raising public awareness of child trafficking and its various manifestations; ensuring a protected environment for children in street situations and unaccompanied or separated children seeking asylum; ensuring that specialized NGOs receive adequate funding.
