Summary/Abstract: The occasion of the study is the 150th anniversary of the unique Bulgarian kindergarten, and the aim is to update Dragan Tsankov's ideas on pre-school education in the light of contemporary pre-school theory and practice. The systematic approach of the Bulgarian pedagogue to public pre-school education is presented, commenting on the pedagogical “temptations” designed for the education of “little men”. In this context, the scientific interest of the authors is aroused by the importance and relevance of the ideas of the First Bulgarian Kindergarten, according to which generations of Bulgarian children have been educated. The results of the scientific analysis of the organisation and content of Dragan Tsankov's kindergarten are a prerequisite for the “enrichment” of modern preschool pedagogy for the well-being and real development of every Bulgarian child.
