Unknown Correspondence

Summary/Abstract: The object of the publication is unknown and hitherto unpublished personal correspondence with Dimitar Nenov, Lubomir Romanski. Included are all their preserved letters from the composer’s personal archive, arranged and tracked out chronologically. Although in the letters prevails information related more to Lubomir Romanski than in Dimitar Nenov, it is an important actual fact of the biography and of the composer’s work. Certainly interesting is the documentary part of the correspondence, which contains information about the cultural and professional musical situation in Germany and Bulgaria, about the preferences of that time, about the relationships, about the household standard of living, etc. In this current first publication and commenting on letters, the historical database about less debated period in our musical past is filled out. The deciphered text of the letter fully comply with the original with solely up-to-date punctuation. All corrections and additions related to the spelling reform of 1945, as well as some editorial explanations are given in italics.
