Summary/Abstract: The visual impact of grapheme and the graphic enhancement of text have been present in children’s literature since the 1960s. New technical possibilities have transformed children’s books into visually attractive objects, and experimen- tal use of language on the border of text and image has begun to appear. This paper focuses on the analysis of 7 visually accented texts for children. The texts were selected in chronological order of their creation and with regard to the appli- cation of visually enhanced graphemes as minimal carriers of verbal-visual meaning.
