Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the problem of contemplation as a method of reading and understanding the literary text and as an educational approach in studying literary texts at school. It opposes the hectic way of life today, in which "reading in solitude" (N. Carr) for pleasure is no longer possible. The thesis that is stated is that contemplation as a meditative and "inspired immersion" (A. Kyosev) in the text is studied and it helps to better analyze and understand the read work.
