Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to analyse and compare Homer’s “Odyssey” and the novel “Ulysses” by James Joyce and to establish if there are any similarities between the two literary works. The title of Joyce’s novel, “Ulysses” can be misleading and a possible reader could have the impression that it is a book about Odysseus or even a continuation of the “Odyssey”. My research focuses on the language used by Joyce, on his characters and on the action sequence.
