Summary/Abstract: The image of Othilda Moisil, born Schwennhagen, is present in all the confessional writings composed by the intellectual Iuliu Moisil from Năsăud during his mature years, illustrating the position and role that the beautiful Teutonic woman had in the protagonist’s life: as key witness to the crucial events in the narrator’s life. Anna Emilia Othilda Schwennhagen is the one with whom Iuliu Moisil built a shared biography for 55 years. While a series of studies and articles have been written about the youngest child of Grigore Moisil, the vicar of Rodna, and his activities, Othilda’s name has remained locked in archival files. This article focuses on the biography of the one alongside whom Iuliu Moisil would write a page in the history of an intellectual couple, who, through their work, exemplify the role of a socio-cultural class in the cultural and educational development of Romania, whose identity is representative of the Romanian space at the end of the 19th century.
