Summary/Abstract: In his book “The Landscape of History,” John Lewis Gaddis explores how historians interpret and present the past. The first chapter introduces the metaphor as a key historical methos, exemplified through a series of comparisons from the worlds of physics, sports, art, literature and cinema. In this context, the historian is presented as a time traveller and an intermediary between the past and the present who, through his knowledge, shapes our historical consciousness and expands our perspective.
