Summary/Abstract: Theoretically, the study explores the complex subject mobility in the changing contexts of literature, reality and memories of them. It also offers generalizations about the profound connection between personality and the flow of life. The analysis of the functions that the image of Mincher Peppercorn has in Thomas Mann's novel „The Magic Mountain“ also raises many questions about the nature of both personality and literature.
