Summary/Abstract: The article seeks to highlight various tools and techniques that can be used in the Criminal Intelligence Process to gather information from publicly available sources on the Internet. It intends to demonstrate the potential for obtaining operational information (criminal intelligence) from online platforms using widely accessible search tools that do not necessitate specialized technical expertise. The emphasis is placed on how the utilization of online search skills, which are increasingly prevalent due to modern technologies, can broaden the opportunities for obtaining operational in- formation by law enforcement agencies. It is important to note that the article does not intend to provide an exhaustive classification of methods for gathering information from online sources due to the limitations of such a format. Instead, it explores certain notable aspects of searching for and obtaining operational information on the Internet, as relevant to contemporary Criminal Intelligence Practices. The publication targets all personnel in the Criminal Intelligence Units of the Ministry of the Interior who are interested in expanding their capacity for collecting operational information using web based open sources.
