Summary/Abstract: The present study aims at throwing some light of theoretical thinking on the intricacies and specifics of drama analysis. The premise of the study is the one concerning the fact that drama analysis is closely connected to the art of performance, which makes it both a literary (fictional) project and a scenic (spectacular) one. Drama can only be analyzed and understood in a formula which should take into account both the fictional and the spectacular projects; this formula is only possible as long as both projects can be initially identified in the text. Therefore a direct result of this double dimension of the dramatic text would be that careful attention will be paid to the role of spectators in their virtual relationship with the fictional and spectacular world generated by the text; this role also is assigned by the specific nature of the dramatic text.
