THE TERRITORY AND THE SETTLEMENTS OF THE EARLY SLAVS REFLECTED IN WRITTEN SOURCES

Summary/Abstract: The territories and the settlements of the early slavs at the north of the Danube are important aspects for the research of the VI-VIIth centuries events. The written sources are mostly focused on the attacks of the slavs in the territory of the Byzantine Empire, the fragments which are referring to the society, religion, and the settlements are sparser. This article studies those fragments referring to the territory and the settlements of the sclavenes and antes at the north of the Danube.
