Summary/Abstract: The short novel “Unreliable Case” by Emil Manov (1919–1982) was published in 1957. The purpose in this text is to show that: the drawing on the cover convincingly interprets the problematic of the story; the drawing is an independent artwork; he literary concept of the story is related to the psychological realism of Henri Stendhal in the novel “The Red and The Black”/ “Le Rouge et le Noir”).
