Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this text is hosted by several elements of the East German vernacular, such as cosmetics, clothes or institutions that represented the state mentioned and, after all, are still palpable in the collective mentality. Above all, elements that survived the demise of the East German state, found in the form of living relics that can give the public a nice perspective on what life in East Germany meant and changes that the state and its citizens have gone through it’s history.
