Summary/Abstract: e-Learning has the potential to change the way students are learning. Its greater potential lies in the ability to change professors’ role from “sage on the stage” to “guide on the side” [1]. The rise of digital media and social networks shifts the focus from the “classical teacher-centered model” towards the “student-centered collaborative learning”. AltFactor is developing an Web2.0 online debate platform, adapted for easy and fast use by both teacher and students for structuring concepts and collaborative learning. The platform combines a “Peer Instruction” like strategy for actively engaging students during lecture with argument based techniques. Using this platform, the teacher will be involved and will be able to involve students in critical thinking activities in or outside the class, building communities of learning around concepts and pedagogical materials.
