Spatio-Temporal Deixis Relationship. A Comparative Analysis of the Demonstrative Systems of Polish and Spanish

Summary/Abstract: The main objective of this paper is to show the differences and similarities in the use of demonstrative forms in Polish and Spanish, which arise not only from differences paradigmatic (Spanish ternary system vs Polish binary system), but also pragmatic context. With the help of electronic corpora the author tries to answer the question of what factors influence the conceptualization of these deictic expressions in both languages.
