Summary/Abstract: The paper examines the changes of forms of address in Polish, which is shown on the exampleof written posts published on social media. These changes are discussed on the basis of threeissues related to the linguistic politeness of people running their profiles there: polite relation-ships which they maintain with their recipients; spelling of forms of address; and their linguisticforms. The aim of the paper is to show how far the forms of communication in social mediadiffer from traditional ones, such as “paper” correspondence and even chronologically later e-mails. The material base includes posts published between 2013 and 2024 on Facebook, Insta-gram, X (formerly Twitter), TikTok and YouTube.
