Summary/Abstract: This article explores the critical roles of key European Union institutions — such asthe European Commission, the European Parliament, and the Council of the EuropeanUnion — in shaping economic policy and fostering business development within the EUsingle market. The European Commission plays a vital role in legislative initiatives, lawenforcement, and the management of EU funds. The European Parliament, on the otherhand, serves as a co -legislator and holds the Commission accountable, ensuring that eco-nomic policies align with democratic principles. Meanwhile, the Council of the EuropeanUnion focuses on strategic decision-making, particularly in promoting cohesion policiesaimed at reducing regional disparities. Special attention is given to the mechanismssupporting small and medium -sized enterprises (SMEs), such as the European RegionalDevelopment Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund (ESF), which contribute toenhancing innovation, digital transformation, and competitiveness. The article providesa comprehensive analysis of how these institutions collectively shape the economiclandscape for businesses operating within the EU.
