Summary/Abstract: Teacher training, including language teacher training, has traditionally paid great at¬tention to educational technologies. The importance of this field has become particu¬larly prominent since the 2000s, when the World Wide Web and various digital tools gradually became available to the general public. It is no coincidence that the last two decades have also seen a focus on the development of digital skills in teacher training, an area where teachers are often at a significant disadvantage compared to students. The present study examines the relevance and integration of digital competences in the context of German as a foreign language teacher education in the light of the foreign language study programmes offered at domestic teacher training faculties.
