Some magical elements in the performing the Vodici custom in the Bituše village

Summary/Abstract: The custom of "Vodici" in the village Bituše is an interesting one, due to the fact that it contains a number of magic activities and beliefs, that strive to bring general prosperity to the village community with the magic power of: different sounds; sacrifieces; various plants; odd numbers; the red color; the tying and untying; the circle; the ceremonial bread. This paper attempts to present the meaning of the magic performances and to interpret the deep belief of the people, that has existed throughout the centuries.
