Summary/Abstract: women; gender; body; sexuality; film; qualitative researchThe article attempts to answer the question of ‘cinematic reflections’ of the influence of patriarchal culture on the experience of femininity, including corporeality and sexuality. The text presents the results of a qualitative analysis of a selected film image entitled. The Sisterhood of the Sacred Sauna, which was directed by Anna Hints. Its filmmaker addressed the intimate experiences and confidences of a group of Estonian women, who talk about the formative events in which their bodies played a central role. The theoretical basis of the realised study was the gender approach in social research and selected concepts of corporeality.
