Summary/Abstract: In this paper we take a closer look at some aspects of Hintikka's philosophy of mathematics. In his book The Principles of Mathematics Revisited and several more recent texts, Hintikka proposed a new foundation of mathematics. He claims that he is defending the realist approach. We will briefly sketch his main arguments and then we will discuss this specific form of Realism.
