Summary/Abstract: The key role that the family plays in the development and upbringing of children also presupposes the need for continuous improvement of the pedagogical knowledge, skills and attitudes of parents, generally defined as “pedagogical culture”. The pedagogical culture of parents is an important condition for effective interaction with their children, as well as a prerequisite for avoiding mistakes in family upbringing, which in recent years have become more and more the norm in the life of families. Non-formal education, as gaining increasing popularity, in turn offers unique opportunities for educational activities outside the traditional learning environment, which makes it comparatively attractive for parents. The purpose of this publication is, based on a study of the experience of currently operating organizations offering educational activities to enhance the pedagogical culture of families in an informal environment, to identify the reasons for the interest of parents and to highlight the benefits of their participation in them. The leading approaches to the problem are synergistic, which will make it possible to seek a comprehensive solution to the issue of increasing the effectiveness of family education. The tasks are related to identifying trends in parental interest and behavior towards activities to increase pedagogical culture, organized in an informal environment, based on a theoretical study of existing concepts in the literature and analysis of the collected empirical data. The methodology includes analytical-synthetic (analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction) and empirical methods - survey and observation. The publication is aimed at all persons who interact with parents in their professional activities, as well as at the parents themselves, because in itself, it is also an attempt to increase their pedagogical culture. The ambition is to provoke the interest of interested parties and to lay the foundations for a broader discussion on the more active involvement of parents in the educational and educational process and the role of informal education in this regard.
