Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present the concept, course and effects of bach-elor’s seminar with the linguistics-glottodidactics profile, conducted at Polish studiesaimed at Chinese-speaking students. Its important task was to develop the metalinguisticawareness of foreign students. In the article, we try to show that by taking up in bach-elor’s these issues combining theoretical aspects of word formation and its practicalapplication in teaching Polish as a foreign language, it becomes possible, on the one hand,to harmoniously develop: a) knowledge about the structure and functioning of the lan-guage system and b) competences of conducting linguistic research and methods of teach-ing Polish, and on the other – developing language skills.
