Summary/Abstract: The study shows how the first article of the law "for confidence in the judicial institution", passed in December 2021, authorising the recording of hearings under certain conditions, and the "Justice in France" programmes (France 3) produced in its wake, are constructed as the sides of an instrument of public action. While the instrument appears to be rooted in a certain ‘modernity’, it is partly beyond the control of its political instigator in that it depends on the judiciary and the media, which are independent players, to function.
