Summary/Abstract: The industrial revolution in agriculture, launched with great momentum in the second half of the 20th century, changed the way food is produced globally. Despite the increase in productivity, this model of agriculture has numerous negative consequences for the environment, biodiversity and socio-economic aspects of rural communities. In this paper, we explore the concept of regenerative agriculture as an alternative to industrial agriculture, highlighting its potential for sustainability and a just transition. Regenerative agriculture promotes the restoration and preservation of ecosystem health through the integration of biological diversity, soil restoration, and natural cycles into agricultural practice.
