Summary/Abstract: Avram Iancu became a symbol of the Transylvanian Romanians, identifying himself with their desires for freedom. His imposing figure remained deeply ingrained in the collective memory, in history, but he was immortalized, both during his lifetime and after his death, in notable works of art, whether in painting, graphic arts or sculpture. This article presents the most important works of art depicting the hero Avram Iancu.
