Summary/Abstract: As is known, this year marks 200 years since the birth of the great Romanian patriot Avram Iancu, the great fighter for the rights of Transylvanian Romanians. A prominent personality of the Revolution of 1848 in Transylvania, Avram Iancu remained in the consciousness of the Romanian nation as a righteous and fierce fighter for the fulfillment of the national ideals of the Transylvanian Romanians, who were held in humiliation by the Habsburg and Hungarian authorities. As a sign of tribute, on the 200th anniversary of the great hero’s birth, we invited the historian Radu Romînaşu from the Department of History at the University of Oradea, to talk to us about the great Romanian patriot’s end of life, and about his funeral. Historian Radu Romînaşu is a teacher at the Faculty of History, Department of International Relations, Political Sciences and Communication Sciences of the University of Oradea.
