Summary/Abstract: The present study evokes the personality and activity of the well-known Bukovinian political figure, Iancu Flondor. For nearly two decades, the restoration of his memory in the Romanian collective mindset has followed several directions: scientific, historiographical, public. The biography and national-political activity of the “boyar from Storozhynets” have been – since the 1990s and the 2000s – analyzed and highlighted through increasingly substantial studies and works. In parallel, in the mental universe of public opinion, the name of the unifier of Bukovina with the Kingdom of Romania began to be remembered more and more frequently, through media channels, his image benefiting from a restoration and a fully deserved reevaluation, at a symbolic level.
