The image of national hero in public conciousness and ideology (on the example of Alexander Nevsky)

Summary/Abstract: The image of Alexander Nevsky has served a political symbol of Russia from time to time. The memory of him and his epoch was exploited for different political propaganda. Till the end of the 20th century the events connected with the personality of Alexander Nevsky were unsystematic. Recently the situation has changed. The article deals with the making of historical memory of Alexander Nevsky as the national hero.
