Summary/Abstract: Accessibility is a fundamental right and the need of people with disabilities. It implies the creation of an inclusive environment and the removal of all barriers that hinder or prevent equal participation in various aspects of life for all people, regardless of their physical, intellectual, or other characteristics and needs. The development of technology significantly contributes to the open and accessible society by offering various digital tools that promote inclusion. Digital tools represent technological solutions that contribute to increasing accessibility for people with intellectual disabilities, allowing them greater independence, communication, and social participation. However, when it comes to the choice and application of digital tools, it is necessary to harmonize them with the possibilities and specific needs in a certain context. The goal of the paper is to present the possibility of using digital tools with the aim of increasing accessibility for people with intellectual disabilities. It is based on the findings of qualitative research and need analyses of people with intellectual disabilities in the context of the application of digital tools in the educational and work environment. Focus groups were held with parents of people with intellectual disabilities and with mentors of people with Down syndrome, interns in a certain organization. The findings of the research, related to the needs and challenges, application of various digital tools and the advantages and disadvantages of existing available applications, represent important guidelines for creating an accessible environment for teaching, learning, and working of people with intellectual disabilities, as well as for creating new application to increase accessibility.
