Summary/Abstract: The value is the diversity of the archival field. To achieve this, it is advisable to have as many family archives as possible, each of which is a view of the world from an original, specific, subjective perspective. The good of the archival field requires that family archives develop and strengthen, remaining private property, not only the providers of materials for other archives, i.e. state, social or religious ones. However, the State Archives must be ready to provide assistance if necessary to secure family archives of historical value. The models and fields of cooperation or coexistence of family archives and non-family archives may be different. Full-time archivists employed in public archives can become, through their example, model creators of their own family archives. Family archives may, to a certain extent, consist of materials obtained as a result of research in institutional archives. Archives of family provenance have become and are becoming part of the state archival resources but, on the other hand, materials illustrating public activities in various fields are naturally found in family a rchives. Family a rchivists will become increasingly involved in crowdsourcing activities for the benefit of public archives. The relationships between archives of various types unite the archival field into one whole and provide a substantive justification for the concept of a national archival resource and a national archival heritage. For this reason, dealing with family archives and caring for them are also actions for the benefit of the entire national archival heritage.
