Summary/Abstract: The study examines the forms of institutionalized popularization of Anglo-American rock in the context of Brno music clubs at the time of normalization (1969-1989). Based on unpublished sources and oral historical research, the text shows the specifics of the rock scene in the south Moravian region, while contradicting the dominant interpretation of the history of rock music behind the Iron Curtain primarily as a political force.
