Summary/Abstract: Communist Romania developed a specific way of dealing with children’s gullible universe: that of “enrolling” the individual into the structures pf the party at a very young age. Starting with Șoimii Patriei (“The Fatherland's Falcons”) and continuing with the Pioneers, the child was drawn into unconditional love for the country and for the leaders. Not to mention obeying administrative rules. The article aims at presenting the way in which this was possible and how children could keep their natural innocence in times of restriction and shortages. Moreover, we try to depict the difference that existed between the rural and urban in terms of children’s experiences and expectations.
