Summary/Abstract: The text aims to reveal some of the results by the Bulgarian team, which is part of the REFUGE-ED Consortium and consists of institutions and organisations from across six European countries. The two described cases and the co-creation interventions—filmmaking and photo school—took part between January and September 2023 and included a total of 18 children and adolescents who took part in the co-creation process and have also created a ‘cultural product’ that brings great potential to not only change their immediate surroundings (i.e., the Safety Zones) but also to challenge and transform the wider social reality. Overcoming anthropological, cultural, religious, and ethnic boundaries through all forms of art can prove to be a process that is durable in overpowering the current challenges posed by populist media, politicians, and conservative-nationalist actors that have been vocal in the past years.
