Summary/Abstract: The preceding lines clearly showed that the level of political interference in the work of the National Archives in Zagreb in the period was quite high, but misdirected. There is no reason to believe that this institution by anything, and so depending on the prevailing political structures, the Croatian society showed some specificity. High politics interfered in all aspects of public life right across the institutions in which it is ideologically and practically tried strengthened its influence. For example, the National Archives is clear that no decision could be made without the blessing of the ruling structure that is in many ways slammed on the work of this institution. Wrong way of political influence was reflected in the legislative part, which is the policy had to do, and it remained in different conflict of interest since the seventies of 19th century until the fifties of the 20th century. In paragraph eight decades of various state organizations and different policy options at their head, neither one did not care to solve the structure and operation of archives and profession’s critical issues. Following (most) important item - providing material conditions for work, primarily relevant work and storage space policy was completely ignored until the point where someone’s personal, particular interest (thankfully) coincided with a critical need. Personnel appointments, however, was a mixture of political influence and personal interests. Sometimes it would benefit but more often then not it would be at the expense of archival profession. Just like today.
