Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to provide an overview of the implications of blockchain technology on traditional banking and the regulatory framework that characterizes it, with a particular focus on cryptocurrencies and the digital euro. Our interest was to analyze how the recent regulation of cryptocurrencies, the development of digital currencies, data protection and privacy, anti-money laundering (AML) and countering the financing of terrorism (CFT) have understood to change classical banking and offer new solutions.
