Summary/Abstract: A six-year-old boy is informed that he has to go to a spa town in the Alps for treatment. He has to leave his family and his home life behind. He experiences the ordeal of separation, lived as a form of abandonment. It gives him the opportunity to discover that he exists independently, and that there is an impulse, started before him, which runs through him and drives him on.
