Summary/Abstract: This study focuses on Moldovan political and legal news in the electoral context, the citizens having to elect the next President of the Republic. The election will be organized on the same day as a constitutional referendum aimed at reconfirming the European identity of the people of the Republic of Moldova and declaring integration into the European Union as a strategic objective of the State. Apart from the risk it poses for the continuation of the European path, in the event of the project being rejected, this political choice by the current President, Maia Sandu, puts the thorny issue of the country's geopolitical orientation towards the East or the West back at the heart of the electoral campaign. A question that tears Moldovan society apart at each election and that impedes the debate on economic and social reform projects to provide concrete answers to citizens' expectations.
