Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes how the militaristic and nationalist policy promoted in Russia and fueled by the war in Ukraine affects academic freedom, subject to strict ideological supervision and a rejection of Western values. Attacks on academic freedom lead to an impoverishment of debate and the promotion, within the university system, of an education based on traditional values promoted by the political authorities.
