Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to gain a deeper understanding of the neurobiological underpinnings of learning difficulties, the possible prevention of neuromyths in education, brain-based education, and the role of genetics in learning potentials. In the present paper, I focus on neural mechanisms for learning, the impact of neuroscience on the field of education, the development of educational neuroscience, and the use of computational models in educational neuroscience.
