Two surgeons of the Bulgarian Governmental Medicine system during the 1951–1989 period

Summary/Abstract: Every archive and memoir, every book and article is a silent treasure for the historian. Thanks to this we succeeded to enter into the specific field of Court Medicine, known during the socialism times in Bulgaria (1945–1989) as Governmental one. Here we are restricting two names only – these of dr. Boris Popov and prof. dr. Nikola Tzankov – leading surgeons at the Governmental hospital – a valuable part of the Bulgarian Governmental Medicine since 1951 till its incorporation in the frame of the new-established Military Medical Academy (MMA) in April 1989.
