Summary/Abstract: A historical study of scientific, pedagogic, medical and social activities of prof. dr. Stoyan Kirkovich is carried out, using the documentary approach and some data about these activities are given. He is one of the founders of the Sofia Medical Faculty and the higher medical education in Bulgaria, the first and for a long time (27 years) head of the Internal Medicine Propaedeutics chair, who wrote the basic textbooks, manuals, clinical and therapeutic lectures in this specialty, and a recognized leader of the Internal Medicine School in Bulgaria. Prof. Kirkovich is the classic of the Bulgarian Internal Medicine, prominent scientist and teacher. He was pointed out to be the personal doctor of the heir of the throne and later tsar Boris III for 47 years. He shared the Freemasonry ideas and was an active member of the Grand Lodge of Bulgaria (1918–1942). He has great contributions to the academic education and Medicine, to the development of the Internal and Laboratory Medicine, especially to the investigation of tuberculosis, bilirubin origin, etc.
