Summary/Abstract: The neoreligious phenomenon characterizes a contemporary trend of disconnection from institutionalized religious traditions, based on the search for a personal and authentic spirituality. This movement is often motivated by a need for identity, an exploration of the diversity of faiths and a rejection of rigid dogmas. From a missionary perspective, this disconnect presents both challenges and opportunities. On the one hand, traditional religious institutions face declining involvement and relevance, while on the other, new avenues for dialog and interaction between different spiritual traditions are opening up. Missionaries need to recognize and adapt to these changes, promoting messages that respond to contemporary spiritual needs and encouraging an inclusive approach that respects the individual quests of those who move away from traditional religious structures. Thus, the neoreligious phenomenon may offer opportunities for re-engaging and re-contextualizing religious messages, inviting a deep reflection on the role of Christian spirituality in modern societies.
